Many members had a desire to read this book, so I hope you enjoy it! The Hunger Games has gotten excellent reviews; it is a New York Times Bestseller. This means if you want a copy, start looking now. Waiting lists are pretty long and it is still only out in hardback.
Now, as a matter of buisness, there are a few things we need to discuss. First, meeting times. We were thinking about meeting the third Saturday of every month. The location of said meeting will rotate. For the first meeting we will meet on June 19th at my house in Saratoga, (more information about how to get here will come later). I just wanted to get a count of how many people will be able to come. Pretty Please, leave a comment letting me at least know how you feel about this plan!
Second, be thinking about other books you are interested in reading. Think about it this way, you get to finally read that book you have been meaning to read all school year, and 1o other people have to read it with you.
Third, invite whomever you want. This is an open book club. Its main purpose is to keep us connected, use that to your advantage. We are rather small, but I'm sure we'll grow.
Finally, I know some of you won't be able to make it to all the meetings, or any for that matter. I still want you to be a member and to read the books. It can be like a shared experience, a bond that links us together. (If you want I can be more cheesy than that, if it will get you to participate.)
